Books for sale
If you're looking for some bargains on used books, I'm selling off a good chunk of my collection via Amazon.com. Click here to see the list of what's for sale. One of the things I like about used book listings on Amazon is the raw capitalism of it all. The price is entirely driven by the rules of supply & demand, when I have to update my listing, I always adjust it so that I have the lowest price, and hopefully the greatest chance of selling my book, and so does everyone else. A recently published book, or an out-of-print book usually brings the highest prices. Textbooks that are out-of-date are practically worthless, as there are many people who have them, and no one wants to buy them. I'm not going to get rich selling my used books, but at least I can clear out some space on the bookshelf.

Good Deal
Amazon has a good deal on Photoshop Elements right now, only $29 after rebate! Normal price is $99. That reminds me, I need to look into bulk licensing of Photoshop or Elements. I'm trying to come up with a good photoediting package for my faculty, but I don't want to break the bank doing so. We've been trying PhotoPlus, which isn't $140 a copy like Photoshop 7.0 is, but I don't care for the way you have to export images to other formats, rather than using the familiar "Save As" dialog box. I want to make it as simple as possible for my users, something which I personally feel more software developers and IT administrators need to adopt as their primary goal in designing any system.
