I had a very busy weekend. My sister-in-law Karen came, with her fiance Pete, to stay with us. My friend J Dylan came down as well. While Holly enteretained her sister, and future brother-in-law, JD and I drove down to Monticello, Iowa on Saturday afternoon to take part in a surprise 30th birthday party for his sister. Much fun was had, and we played a lot of "Catchphrase" which is a good party game. I told her she's definitely getting old, as the party had broken up by 9:30 p.m. Now, I have a hectic week ahead of me, at least 4 meetings to attend, and I need to get as much done as possible, as I'm leaving for Vegas next Saturday. Kristin, my student assistant, is gone too, as her grandfather passed away Thursday, so I'll be on my own getting all this work done.

Ooooh! Pack up the car, we're going to Algona, to see the world's biggest Chee-to! I can't believe some "journalist" spent his time on this article, is there no "real" news to report today? And really, why would you want a giant Chee-to? Every time I eat them, I feel like Midas, because whatever I touch for the rest of the day turns a tasty golden orange. Cool Ranch Doritos are better, not as messy, and it gives you a superpower: Toxic Breath.

Wow, this is America? Talk

Wow, this is America? Talk about free speech violation, this lawyer was arrested for wearing a T-Shirt that read "Give Peace A Chance" in a local mall. The kicker, is that he bought the shirt at said mall. Okay, now, he is guilty of trespassing, if he refused to leave the mall when asked, as it's private property. But, why did they ask him to remove his shirt? As I read the article, he could have stayed in the mall, if he removed the shirt, which must mean that it was his shirt which was offensive, not his actions, so I don't buy the mall's line about him being "disruptive".

Anyone want to buy the

Anyone want to buy the farm? John's selling his beloved homestead, act now, and get chickens free! I'd buy it under the following conditions:

1. I got a tech job at ISU, paying at least $45K/year, and that job did not suck. 2. I could get cable modem/DSL/high speed wireless service there (not satellite, too much latency!).

But, since I'm doubting either one of those is going to happen any time soon, he'll have to find another sucker. :)
