Looks like the University of Iowa had another compromise, potentially exposing 14,500 social security numbers to a hacker. It's not likely that the numbers actually were stolen though, most of these hacks are because someone wants to use the fast university servers/bandwidth to share pirated movies, music, and porn.
My Xbox 360 now writes its own blog, so if you get bored reading mine, you can always read his/hers (I haven't figured out what gender it is yet).
Congratulations to my parents, who had their offer accepted today on this house near Hanlontown, Iowa. The place still needs to be inspected and tested, but assuming all of that goes okay, or can be resolved, they'll have a new acreage to call home.
The paved plaza area in our central campus confuses many visitors. When the barriers are down, it can sort of look like road, rather than a plaza (even though there are trees planted all over it) so people often drive in there by mistake.
However, they usually don't attempt to exit by taking the stairs near the McCollum Science Hall:

Thanks to everyone who contributed money towards my fundraiser for the MMRF, together, our team raised over $3000 to help find a cure. And rest assured that your money went to a good cause, the MMRF has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, the research grant program has received approval from the National Cancer Institute, and it meets the Wise Giving Alliance standard set by the Better Business Bureau. Even though it rained all week prior to the event, Sunday morning was spectacular in St. Paul, cool and clear, perfect weather for a 5K hike around Lake Phalen. I think the organizers were a bit overwhelmed, this was only the second year that they've held the event, and they ran out of some things, like the T-Shirts for participants. I think they had more same-day registrations than they were expecting, and there was a much bigger crowd than we were expecting. My dad, and the other "patients" were given teal green shirts and race numbers to wear, so that everyone else could cheer them on.
