Tonight, we're off to see

Tonight, we're off to see The Capitol Steps at the GBPAC. I'm somewhat amazed that UNI managed to book them two days before election day, talk about timely! We spent yesterday in Manson & Fort Dodge visiting Holly's family, and her step-grandmother, who's in the hospital with congestive heart failure. She's off the vent now, and out of the ICU, and I think she'll probably be home in another day or two, as Al would say, she's on the mend.

This afternoon, we attempted to rake up all the leaves on our lawn, and soon discovered we had a lot more leaves than we'd imagined. The big Maple tree in our front yard had buried the lawn under several inches of big green leaves that are far too green to burn. We filled our 93 gallon yard waste container to the top, and after that gets emptied tomorrow, I'm sure we'll fill it again.

The Check Engine light came

The Check Engine light came on in the new car the other night, as Holly was coming home from work. I took it in to the Toyota dealership, as the car is under warranty, and they told me that the computer said my gas cap was faulty, so they replaced it. How much money would it cost to add an LCD display to the car that gave me a 4 digit error code, telling me what was wrong with my car? Of course then the dealership wouldn't be able to charge people for these stupid things. I'm glad my car is under warranty until 2007.

Due to some SNAFU in

coverDue to some SNAFU in communications between my manager and I, I missed my first day (which should have been yesterday) at Software, Etc. I'm convinced he's to blame, as I literally was entering the information into my scheduling program as I was on the phone with him, and fortunately, I think he's convinced that he was the one who erred as well. In any case, all is forgiven, and I'll actually start tomorrow night, which will also be insanely busy, as there are 160 people who've pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and they'll all be coming in to pick it up. Dan, the manager, said it'll be the busiest day of the year for the store. Oh goodie.
