Septemberfest

I'm in Ventura, Iowa (my hometown) today, to celebrate the annual Septemberfest, and to have my 10-year high school reunion. No, I won't be participating in either the greased pig contest or the cow drop bingo.

For those who don't know what cow drop bingo is, they mark off a grid on the grass, then erect a fence around the grid and release a cow into the pen. Each square is numbered, people then pay $5 each to claim a square, and the first square the cow defecates on collects the total. In the event that the cow simultaneously goes on two or more squares, they split the pot.

Say What?

The first of these is just funny. The second one pisses me off.

I can't honestly say which of these two quotes offends me more:

"We've got an issue in America. Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." — George W. Bush

"It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States." — Dick Cheney

I don't know which is worse, but I do firmly believe that each sums up the speaker in a nutshell.
